I finally sort-of finished the vanity that I bought at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I bought the mirror at the used hotel furniture place, and I screwed in some fab. knobs that I hung some vintage jewelry from.

A Baby Shower for Princess Daisy!
Yesterday, our family and friends got together for a party to welcome the anticipated arrival of our own "Princess Daisy". I decorated these flip-flops for Kelli to wear at the hospital and this is the card I made for her. That is Kelli in the photo when she was about 5 years old. "Once a princess, always a princess"...
I made these flower pens and printed a thank you on green patterned paper to make the leaves...
and I made tieras for everyone to wear. It was so much fun to look across at all of our family and friends and see them wearing the crowns!

Composition in Scrapbooking
I taught a really short lesson the other night at my house about composition in scrapbooking, card making and art in general. Above is an "L" or "right angle" composition.
remember that the examples above can be flipped. (I need to thank my friend Harold Nelson for his drawings that I got in a class of his for oil painting plain air. If you have a sec. check out his paintings, they are Fabulous and Exceptional.

The Last Few Days I have been Painting a Mural...
When we moved into this house, all the walls were a dark brown. Neutral and the trend, but way too boring for me personally. So....I painted and painted. I painted the kitchen a sunny mustard yellow, but the stove vent was uninteresting.
Wednesday I primed the vent white. and then proceeded to tape....
When Mr. Fabulous came home, he thought I was decorating the kitchen in a "circus" theme! (I could tell that He wasn't that happy, but He didn't say anything.)
On Friday, I did a little more by white-washing the whole thing and started to paint in the details....and today, Saturday, I finished it up!
I need to wait a few days to add more detail to the chickens as I used oil paints for that process and it needs to dry a bit more. I then plan on sealing the vent a few times so that it can be cleaned without worrying about taking off any paint. I love it!

My Baby Girl...
Ever since she was a little girl, our family had a poem about Devan:
Devan the Bevan,
Who Came from Heaven
is not quite seven...(her age changed as time went on.)
and time went on.......
Devan the Bevan,
Who Came from Heaven
is not quite seven...(her age changed as time went on.)
and time went on.......
She said:
"Devan the Bevan,
Who came from Heaven,
Is Having Number Eleven"
That's right folks, my baby girl is having a baby, our number ELEVEN!. We are all so happy for her and our Fabulous Son in Law: Preston. And I am excited as can be to have another Glam-child!!!!!!
Thank you Devan, for being you!!!!!!

Princess Carma...
Last week I went to Portrait Inovations with my daughter Chelsea and my Fabulous Glam-daughter Carma (4 months). Three assistants helped because we were the only ones at the studio. You just can not believe the huge amount of wonderful photos that were taken! I need to get more so that I can brag (oh. I mean share) them with you all.
Once again, thanks for letting me brag..... and credit designer Rhonna Farrer for the digital graphics (She is one of my all time top favorite designers! She's FABULOUS! and of course the designers of my glam-daughter Carma: Chelsea & Dusty... I just put the elements together.)

My Wedding Family Tree Scrapbook page...
So I made this page the other day and tried to use only one graphics kit so that I could remember it in acknowledging the designer. Well, I lost that note that said where it was! Anyway I will find it and make sure that I do not forget next time.
When I googled "family tree murals" last month when I painted the tree on my bedroom wall, this fun vintage comic "family tree" came up. I loved it and had to share it. I am coming to LOVE the process of "Googling" mostly, you can tell if it's not good to click on a site or not, and I have not come up with anything naughty yet. (Knock on wood)

Today ...
Above is my middle daughter Kelli's nursery for her very first baby due next month. Her husband Craig painted it and what a good job he did! Kelli is going to adhere jewels at the points of the harlequins.
("NEUTRAL" has never been a word in our family vocabulary....)
("NEUTRAL" has never been a word in our family vocabulary....)
Today, I am finally going to start sewing together Kelli's baby nursery. The list to do is; curtains for the closet (instead of a door) the crib's quilt and dust ruffle ( I buy the dust ruffles if I can that "go" and add onto it so it touches the floor). I also buy the sheets. Then we will add our left over fabric onto baskets for storage. So there you go! and her I go off to the "sewing living room" (I have a designated sewing room mostly for storage, but that big 10 foot table in the living room works great.)

more Digital Scrapbooking...
Today, I played with Smilebox. It is worth the few bucks to get the whole package of designs even though they offer a lot of great ones free. Now you can save your scrapbooks not only as slide shows with music, but save your pages as PNG files and print them yourself! Here is Nash...

Pop Bottle Charms as Keyrings...
So I'm finally getting around to post the key ring that I made for my mother-in-law (top) It has photos of her Mom and Dad: Walt and Phoebe Openshaw and a "twin"photo of my husband. It seems that when the elementary school took the yearly pictures, his was so "naughty" looking that they made him take another. The photographer thought he was twins and his mom got both set of pictures!
Here is a key chain for my mom of her grandchildren and one of my sister, brother and I.
And this one I made for my sister and the two photos show both sides of each charm. I used swarovski crystals and the photos do no Justice what so ever at how beautiful these really are. It was fun making them.
And here is a charm bracelet that I made of all my grandchildren. I love wearing it!
