I was inspired recently at my baby girl's baby shower for her anticipated July delivery of her first baby girl. Everything was ruffled! While it has been a long standing "family etiquette tradition" that a child does not wander around in just diapers, diaper covers are hard to find. Especially cute ones (yes, you can find them online, but they are pricey) so I have been sewing. This little pink leopard shouts FABULOUS and is for Phoebe when she arrives. It is a newborn size. I bought this onesie at Walmart for $3.50. I added the ruffles and made the headband to match. It's for Chelsea's baby, Pearl.
And this fabulous zebra number will be either be for Carma or Daisy, whoever it fits best. I made a hair clip this time because the 2 year olds don't like the elastic bands for some reason.
Well, it's back to sewing, I have more glamdaughters and shower gifts coming up. I just love sewing these small items... The fun fabrics and easy patterns make them instant gratification. Yeah!

These are cute enough to make me want another baby...love them Kelley!
And I think the last ones should be for Daisy and she should wear them to nursery so that I can stare at them for two straight hours. And maybe steal them.

I love these ruffle bums!!! I agree I don't let lacey run around in a diaper. You are sew talented lol. Okay when are you going to teach me? Can I pay you for sewing lessons. Oh and you found your signature gift for baby shower for girls!

Dear Kelley,
I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now and I reallu like it. I have a niece that I think would look adorable in those bloomers. Where did you get the pattern? or did you make the pattern yourself? I would really like to make one for my niece when she comes out here for my wedding next month.

Hi Juliana! I actually altered a pattern from children's shorts from McCalls, but there are all kinds of patterns out there. Buy the low cost, easy sewing patterns or buy the pattern when your fabric shops have the 99cent sales, otherwise patterns now are very expensive. I visited your blog. All my best on your upcoming nuptials and your sewing adventures!
